What Exactly is KJS?
KJS stands for “Keith Jump Shot,” and yes, the name is as straightforward as it sounds! So, if you were wondering what KJS is all about, there’s your answer!
The Origin of KJS
The concept of KJS was born rather spontaneously back in 2005 during a trip to Perth, Australia. At the time, I thought capturing a mid-air kick aimed at the camera would be a fresh and quirky twist, so I went for it. The resulting photo was so cool that it became my Friendster profile picture for a while.
As someone who’s always had a penchant for experimenting with photography, I began trying out various kinds of jump shots. While the “star jump shot” began to gain global popularity, I felt the need to set myself apart. And that’s when it happened—one fateful day, I spontaneously crafted what is now known as the KJS style.
The signature of this style? A jump shot featuring double ticks for both legs and diagonally outstretched arms. As I continued to travel, this unique take on the jump shot started to catch people’s eyes, and it has since become my trademark.
Do You Really Travel Alone?
I mostly hit the road solo, and I love it that way! Sure, I sometimes travel with family or friends, but the majority of my adventures are solo escapades. 😄
So, Who’s the Photographer Behind These Amazing Shots?
Given that I usually travel alone and rarely bring a tripod, I have no choice but to interact with the people I meet on my journeys. So, if you’re wondering why I have such a diverse and awesome circle of global friends, that’s my secret! 😉
Are Your Photographers Professionals?
In today’s world, you don’t need to be a pro to capture creative or exceptional photos. Admittedly, it often takes a few tries to get the perfect shot. I usually pre-set the camera settings and frame the shot myself before handing my camera over to my new friend. Luckily, I’m still spry enough to nail those KJS shots!
Do You Prefer Solo or Group Jumping?
I prefer to jump solo—no contest! Group jumping can be quite the hassle, even if it’s with my closest buddies. 😂
