About Keith Yuen

Keith is the man behind Travel Inspiration 360, he considers travelling to be “one of the great true love” of his life. Keith believes that each travel experience has made him far richer in experience and wisdom by learning about other cultures and histories. Inspired by his father and a childhood interest in encyclopedia over story books, Keith is a Singaporean who loves embarking on solo travels, not just to mainstream countries but also to exotic places. He loves taking photos and captioning them with famous or self-created quotes to share with his readers.

Keith believes in finding a true purpose to life and has embarked on a journey to find his purpose. He resigned from his full time job in the Singapore Government’s statutory board to pursue his dreams on travelling the world and inspiring others. Keith aims to write compelling stories from his experiences around the world on Travel Inspiration 360, and sometimes provide Travel Tips or Vegetarian Guides too.

Keith revolves around his life with the 5 major core values:

1) Family

Keith is from a humble, beautiful and lovely family! He is deeply loved by his parents and siblings. He is also very grateful to his family for supporting what he does. Their love and support has definitely helped shape him as a person today! He recognise that family is not only an important thing but it’s everything in life! 🙂

The loves from family and the admiration of friends is much more important than wealth and privilege.

2) Faith

Pursuing a spiritual cultivation path and accumulating merits or virtues by learning to give, is his faith in life! Keith loves a quote from Paulo Coelho that summarise his spiritual belief nicely! 🙂

“All religions lead to the same God, and all deserve the same respect. Anyone who chooses a religion is also choosing a collective way for worshipping and sharing the mysteries. Nevertheless, that person is the only one responsible for his or her actions along the way and has no right to shift responsibility for any personal decisions on to that religion.”

Keith is a true believer of his faith, and he respects all cultures, and religions. Everyday, he prays for world peace,  equality in mankind, and harmony! He caters his time regularly in volunteering services, mainly in educating youth in skills and competencies, advocating philosophical moral values, imparting positive life values, motivations and other social services. He strongly believes in karma, as a saying “what goes around comes around”, therefore, he follows the rest who shares the same faith, and start planting good seeds in the society. 🙂

3) Friends

Friendship is always a sweet responsibility and never an opportunity. Keith loves his buddies deeply! Besides his lovely family, they are another important pillar in his life! Cliche as it may sound, finding a real solid friend who you can rely on is already a blessing, but Keith has not just one but four real solid buddies. Lucky him! Whenever he is in Singapore, Friday is always block out for the group to hangout. Despite everyone’s busy schedule, they stay committed to their friendship since childhood, and his buddies will always make time to travel together at least once every year. 🙂

Don’t forget, best friends are the siblings that God give us! 🙂

4) Travelling

Traveling is the one true love of Keith! Some people may feel that travelling is “impossible”, “challenging”, “tough”, “fearful” or “expensive” but it is a myth. Keith started off roughing out in the world when he started travelling during his younger days at the age 19, staying at backpacker hostels, sleeping in the airport or train stations (it’s dangerous and he is thankful nothing bad happened to him before) he has tried many things and accumulated many travel tales. Over the time, he has achieved financial stability and is now able to travel a bit more “luxuriously”! He was deeply inspired by his father who told him that the world comes with no borders, it was humans who drew borders among ourselves. Keith believes that they are many stories in the world that is left untold, hence, he has taken upon himself to find out what life is from different sides of the world and share his experience with his readers/followers.

Flags Around The World

My Flags Collection from the places I have visited!

I love collecting flags from the countries I have visited. To see the post and the countries I have visited, check out Countries Visited!

Traveling is the only thing you can buy in this world that makes you richer! Some of the life lessons he has learned from his travels, include:

  • Being inspired by the Africans and learned what contentment is from the primitive tribes.
  • Being amazed by how people live in the arctic circle in Iceland and Scandinavia, withstanding some of the most extreme cold weather, but with amazing landscapes and terrains!
  • Being grateful to be able to help the children from the war torn countries.
  • Appreciating the super friendly and amazing Latin Americans’ culture in South America especially BRAZILIANS!
  • Experiencing kindness, loves and welcoming from the people in the Middle East.
  • Don’t get him wrong, he does love his home country, Singapore, a lot! He always miss home when he travels because Singapore has his Family and Friends (his pillar of support) and one very important F word – FOOD!!! He loves the huge varieties of vegetarian food in Singapore.
  • Yes that’s right, Keith is a vegetarian. Many people have the misconceptions about vegetarianism, so he has started another column on Vegetarian Inspiration 360 to share good places to eat not just in Singapore, but around the world too. 🙂

The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.  To him, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar that it is taken for granted. 🙂

5) Financial

Keith resigned from his full time job with the Singapore government’s statutory board to pursue a career as a travel writer and content producer for Travel Inspiration 360. He produces travel articles through his website and YouTube channel as well as other social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
