Traveling does not necessarily mean you must be always running around and having fun 24/7. Besides having a “me time”, meeting this group of travelers may change your perspective in life. Certainly, there will be some take back for you after interacting with them. They are mostly inspiring and have many things to offer.

10 Types of Travelers You Will Appreciate To Meet When You Travel:

Number 1 – The Veteran Travelers

They have been to many countries, and speaks a mosaic of languages. Their entire life packs in small, quaint backpack. Needless to say, they lived an interesting life which inspires you in many ways.

Sauber: An awesome car engineer who loves traveling, shared his experience how he conquered Europe! A very friendly and nice Spanish guy I have met in Stockholm! He keeps inviting me to his house in Euskadi, Spain at Basque Country (Autonomous Community which was granted the status of nationality within Spain). Opps, he probably would remind me that he is not Spanish or rather, Euskaldun! 🙂

The oldest backpacker I ever met from Austria

The oldest backpacker I ever met from Austria

The oldest backpacker I ever met, an Austrian professor who traveled from Venice to Rome by foot! Many awesome stories and experiences he has shared with me. Although there was a little communication breakdown due to language barrier, but I could appreciate and feel his genuineness and sincerity. 🙂

Mostly Found In: Backpacker hostel – a quiet place writing diaries

Number 2 – The Inspirational Travelers

Always have something to offer, a valuable experience or life lesson for everyone! Well traveled or very inspirational group of people. Sometimes artistic as well. 🙂

Ingunn is a sweet traveler that I have met during a long train ride from Bergen to Oslo, Norway. We exchanged some opinions on the philosophy of life and had a good chat on the train ride. Beautiful scenery, beautiful chat and beautiful exchange. 🙂

Sommer was the one who encouraged me to start Visual Inspiration 365. Another blog entry of mine featuring my favourite quotes with my favourite travel photos. Sommer’s Visual Inspiration 365 was very inspiring and awesome! Unfortunately, due to time and lack of discipline, I stopped updating my Visual Inspiration 365, however, in exchanged, I started Travel Inspiration 360! haha

Mostly Found In: Museum or with a notebook

Number 3 – The Sweeties Travelers

Sweet candies that will melt your heart when you interact with them. They usually started off as quiet and shy. You will be SURPRISED as most of them usually are solo travelers too! 🙂

Number 4 – The Cool Couple Travelers

There is nothing as irritating than finding deeply-in-love-because-we-are-newly-married couple in a non honeymoon destination or even in a hostel. Generalisations apart, there are some people who only travel with their better half.

Good thing is, not every couple will stick together when they travel. Some couples you would not even know they are couples, as they do their own thing and are not glued to each other. Which is really cool! I met many really solid and cool couples who interacted with everyone personally. The ones I featured below… are true fun and cool couples! haha

Number 5 – The Backpacker Travelers

Backpacker Travelers doesn’t mean having a backpack at their back! The backpacker travelers can be someone who had a boring 9 to 5 office desk-bound job and absolutely needed to escape from their reality! haha The backpacker could also be someone who realises that time is not always on our side, so it is best to seize the day while we still can. YOLO! 🙂

Number 7 – The Solo Travelers

Most of us really don’t understand the stigma attached to doing things independently. Many would think ‘going solo’ is weird and dangerous; I personally think it is a great way to do solo travel and meet new people without having to worry about what anyone else wants to do. Independent travel is ‘me time’ at its best. Check out my separate post for “Can You Travel Alone?” to find out whether YOU can travel solo as well. 🙂

Number 8 – The Self Discovery Travelers

They have no plans. They just go with the flow and see where they end up every day. These are the travelers who are on a journey of self-discovery and who wish to come out of the trip as a new person. Some amateur travelers will take this seriously, a bit more cautious in who they meet and what they say! Most of them, are in transition of opening up their mind to others! 🙂 For some more experience travelers, they are more daring and mind-opening to others, they definitely have some take backs at the end of every trip! 🙂

Number 10 – The Photography Guru Travelers

If you think you probably carry the most expensive DSLR camera, you may not have seen a real photography guru yet! haha They are the truly dedicated travel photographers with Nat Geo’s quality photos! They will give advice how you can improve the image quality and what settings to use when talking wildlife, northern lights or other challenging types of photos. They inspired me to improve my photo-taking skills. Also, they are usually the ones who sell their photos to postcard companies or corporate organisations.
